Packaging guide

Last update: 20/03/2025

We would like to remind you that the packaging of your shipments must comply with a minimum number of rules to prevent delivery services from refusing to accept them.

Delivery services handle several hundred shipments every day. Your parcels may pass through several hands before reaching the final recipient, and are transported with all the risks of emergency braking and other traffic hazards to take into account.

Any shipment picked up by a delivery person must be packed in such a way that the object to be transported cannot be damaged in transit.

Dimensions and weights

Max. length 2.00 m and less than 3.00 m perimeter (L+2l+2h). Max. weight per customer 25kg.

Nature

Miscellaneous products (no ADR transport requirements), no flammable products, and no other illegal materials.

Insurance

If the delivery person is responsible for accidental damage, provided your parcel meets the standards described herein, his insurance is often limited (to 200,- € for Michel Greco as an example). Damage due to faulty packaging is not covered by insurance.

Perishables

Please contact us by e-mail at support@letzshop.lu for the transportation of perishable goods requiring temperature-controlled transport.

Cartons and crates

Use polyethylene bags to prevent water damage. Padded envelopes are inexpensive ways to ship small goods safely. More recently, corrugated boxes and flat-rate mailboxes are good rigid packaging options for heavier or bulkier items.

Empty space

At any stage of delivery, empty space in boxes means damage. Use bubble wrap for fragile goods, brown paper or a roll of single-layer corrugated cardboard to fill the space inexpensively and, if you have lots of extra space, use air cushions.

Water resistance

Please isolate liquids from all other packaging components. Better still, enclose liquids and other sensitive products in plastic bags. This means that if they spill, it won't affect the rest of the package.

Recycling

You can reuse packaging; recycling is not forbidden as long as the packaging continues to protect its contents.

Fragile materials

If you're shipping more than one fragile item in the same box, you need to take special measures to ensure that they are shipped undamaged. One way to pack fragile items for shipping is to divide them up with corrugated partitions. If this doesn't work as intended, you can always put the items in double boxes instead.

We’re counting on your support for the project and for the deliverers by observing these rules to ensure a good customer experience and the long-term future of Letzshop.lu.
