Describe your products on Letzshop

Last update: 28/04/2025

Pay attention to your product title

The title is the first thing your customers see. It should both inform them and make them want to click. A good title is also an asset for SEO, both on Letzshop and on Google.

What a good title should contain:

  • The type of product
  • The brand (if relevant or valuable)
  • A distinctive feature (material, color, format, use)

Example:

❌ Not so good: “T-shirt”

✅ Better: ‘Men’s organic cotton T-shirt – round neck – navy blue – Brand X”

Avoid:

  • Titles that are too vague (’Shoes,” “Handbag”)
  • Excessive use of capital letters
  • Unnecessary adjectives (“Top,” “Superb,” “New”)
  • Unclear or internal abbreviations.

Tip

Think like your customer. What would they type into a search engine to find this product? List these keywords in a logical order, from the most general to the most specific.

Example

“Cordless stick vacuum cleaner – 40 min battery life – Brand X.”

Write a description that makes people want to read more

An effective product description is not limited to technical specifications. It must convince, reassure, and help the customer visualize themselves using the product.

Recommended structure:

  1. A short hook to grab attention
  2. The key benefits of the product
  3. Technical specifications (material, dimensions, composition, etc.)
  4. Tips for use or styling, if relevant
  5. A personal comment from the retailer (optional but valuable)

Example:

Not so good: “Stainless steel watch with adjustable strap.”

✅ Better: ”An elegant and durable watch, ideal for everyday wear and special occasions, with an adjustable strap for perfect comfort.”

Use a clear and engaging tone

Your customer is not an expert on the product: address them using simple, concrete language.

Our advice:

  • Avoid technical jargon, unless your audience understands it
  • Use short sentences
  • Speak directly to your customer: “You will appreciate…”, “This model will help you…”

Optimize your text for search engine optimization (SEO)

Good SEO helps your product listing rank higher in search results, whether on Letzshop or on Google. To achieve this, your titles and descriptions must be clear, relevant, and aligned with the words your customers actually use when searching for a product like yours.

Use keywords that your customers are searching for

Before you start writing, ask yourself: what words would my customer type to find this product?

Don’t just use the technical name of the product: add common or contextual terms.

Examples

  • “Women’s oversized hoodie” is more effective than “Sweater model X135Z”
  • “Silent bagless vacuum cleaner” is more popular than “VacuPower V4 EcoSystem.”

Put keywords in the right places

The most important areas for SEO are:

  • The product title
  • The first few lines of the description
  • Subheadings or bullet points, if any

Be specific: avoid generic terms on their own

A word like “shoes” or “bag” is too broad to make you stand out. Add:

  • The type: hiking shoes, shoulder bag
  • The audience: men, women, children
  • The style or material: leather, waterproof, vegan, etc.

Illustrate with high-quality visuals

The title and description aren’t everything. Clear, flattering, and well-thought-out photos greatly enhance the effectiveness of your product listing.

Recommendations:

  • Multiple views: front, back, details
  • Show the product in context if possible (worn, used, decorated, etc.)
  • Natural or neutral lighting
  • White background
